Systematic Training for Effective Parenting S.T.E.P. is a multi-level educational program approved for use in the Diocese to assist parents in learning effective ways to relate to their children. Elizabeth Ministry is a program in which women help other women during time of pregnancy, birth, adoption or infant crisis. In provides support to those who are suffering the pain of miscarriage, infertility, or failed adoption. Marriage Encounter, a weekend enrichment program, is designed to help build communication skills between husband and wife. A series of presentations given by married couples and a priest provides meaningful reflection for couples to refocus on their relationship, with private time for discussion away from the distractions of every day life. Retrouvaille: A Lifeline for Troubled Marriages Retrouvaille is a weekend experience in which husbands and wives are helped to re-establish communication and gain new insights into themselves as individual and as a couple. Separated and Divorced Support Groups The ministry to the Separated and Divorced is a caring ministry designed to provide a greater sense of belonging to the Church.
An international organization, which provides a bridge to emotional healing for children, adolescents and adults confronting death, divorce or other painful family transition "because it does not need to hurt forever." The office promotes the care and protection of life on the whole continuum of human existence from conception to natural death. Thirty-two trained diocesan priests offer healing, counseling, and reconciliation of those who have been injured by abortion. The Respect Life Office serves as the referral center.
